| Summary: | The possibilities of transfers are a central problem in cases of investigating and demonstrating mutual cultural contacts. After a short methodological introduction and an overview of the state-of-the-art, the paper analyses this problem in the framework of the supposed Hittite-Biblical cultural contacts. All possibilities suggested in previous research (Hittite Empire period, the transitional period following the disintegration of the Empire, the Neo-Hittite states) will be discussed in detail. It will be concluded that such transfers were possible only in the Neo-Hittite period, but the fragmentary and one-sided sources hardly allow proving the existence of such transfers. It will be underlined that it is still an unsolved question if such transfers happened at all. Bei der Untersuchung bzw. Beweisführung von kulturellen Kontakten bildet der Weg der Vermittlung eine zentrale Frage. Nach einer kurzen methodologischen Einleitung und einem For-schungsüberblick wird diese Frage im Rahmen der angenommenen hethitisch-biblischen Kulturkontakte kritisch besprochen, wo alle bisher vorgeschlagenen Möglichkeiten (hethitische Großreichszeit, Periode nach dem Untergang des Reiches, späthethische Zeit) ausführlich behandelt werden. Dieser Aufsatz kommt zu dem Schluss, dass solche Vermittlungen nur in der späthethitischen Zeit möglich waren. Wegen der spärlichen und einseitigen Quellenlage sind diese Vermittlungen jedoch kaum beweisbar, so dass man auch betonen sollte, dass es fraglich bleibt, ob solche Vermittlungen überhaupt anzunehmen sind. |
