| Sumario: | In St Catherine's Monastery two early versions of the "Dormition of Mary" (Liber requiei Mariae) in Christian Palestinian Aramaic have surfaced in the form of palimpsest fragments, which are very difficult to decipher, and date from the fifth to sixth centuries. While these two are hidden as underwriting in double palimpsests with Georgian and Greek script above (Sinai, Georgian NF 19), another early palimpsest version is attested in the Taylor-Schechter Collection from the Cairo Genizah, which is overwritten with a rabbinic text Midrash Sifra. This paper proposes a primary edition and translation of these five palimpsests fragments. Dans le Monastère de Ste Catherine, au Sinaï, ont été découvertes deux versions anciennes de la « Dormition de la Vierge » (Liber requiei Mariae) en araméen christo-palestinien sous forme de fragments de palimpsestes qui datent du ve au vie siècle et qui sont très difficiles à déchiffrer. Alors que ces deux versions sont cachées, rédigées en palimpsestes doubles sous une écriture géorgienne et grecque (Sinai, Georgian NF 19), une troisième version palimpseste ancienne se trouve dans la collection Taylor-Schechter de la Bibliothèque de l'Université de Cambridge et se lit sous un texte du Midrash Sifra de la Geniza du Caire. L'article propose une première édition et une traduction de ces cinq fragments. |
