Description
Summary:The Collectio ex opusculis sancti Augustini in epistulas Pauli apostoli is an exegetical commentary on Paul's Epistles that consists of 457 fragments from Augustine's writings, compiled by the Venerable Bede. The commentary's editio princeps is currently being prepared at KU Leuven as part of a research project on Bede's Collectio. The preparation of this critical edition allows us to more thoroughly analyse the stemmatical relations between the commentary's direct and indirect witnesses. The present contribution offers the first analysis of the textual transmission of the commentary's sections on I Tim.-Hebr. (fr. 396-457), which have only been preserved in part of the Collectio's witnesses, but have never been thoroughly studied.
