Description
Summary:This article focuses on the educational and motivational benefits of a cooperative and research-based investigation of digitalized Biblical manuscripts. With this approach, the introduction of students to New Testament textual criticism does not just start with the (for many not very appealing) study of the Nestle-Aland and its apparatus. Instead, students discover the fascination of the material culture by investigating different features of manuscripts and, in an explorative manner, learn to go beyond the use of the Nestle-Aland. Likewise, they become experts in Biblical manuscripts and improve their skills in Digital Humanities. A seminar held at the TU Dresden which made use of such a didactical approach, is presented at the end of this article.
