Description
Summary:This article proposes and applies criteria that identify sixty-two actions of God in the Gospel of Mark and investigates the patterns of development among these actions. The discussion presents arguments for attributing the two actions of tearing (1:10; 15:38) to God and then resolves the remaining sixty actions into those that occur chronologically before, between, and after the actions of tearing. The discussion then further resolves the resulting three groups of actions into subgroups, clarifies the functions of the subgroups, and identifies parallels in the actions before, between, and after God’s actions of tearing.
