Description
Summary:Building on the observation that the commissions by the Risen Christ in Luke and Matthew cannot be historical, the proper context for them is located in the situation represented at the end of Acts. This context enables us to give significance to the differences between them and the possibility that they point to alternative understandings of mission in the New Testament churches. This, in turn, may help to recover some freedom in rethinking mission today.
