Il convient donc d'en étudier l'historiographie, non comme si la Bible s'était développée uniquement sur elle-même, ni en fonction de l'historiographie grecque, mais des nombreux modèles qui l'ont précédée. Il résulte de l'analyse des textes que l'institution royale, sur laquelle étaient axées les historiographies orientales, a fait place dans la Bible à des institutions patriarcale, prophétique, judiciaire et sacerdotale, définies par les codes de la Torah. Now it is obvious for all scholars that the Hebrew Bible has been written in relation to the great cultures which preceded it, and by their literary patterns. Its historiographies have to be studied in confrontation with those patterns. It appears that kingship which was the focus of ancient historiography has been supplanted by other institutions: patriarchs, prophets, judges, Aaronide priesthood. Those institutions are shaped by the codes of the Torah. | ||
