Das Recht solcher Annahmen wird anhand der Kriegserzählungen überprüft, weil sie die Möglichkeit bieten, durch den Vergleich des historisch Plausiblen mit der literarischen Verarbeitung das traditionsgeschichtliche Verhältnis der Texte zu ihrer historischen Kulisse wenigstens grob einzuschätzen. Die Kontrolle ergibt, daß für die Herausbildung der Traditionen und Texte mit einem zeitlich und lokal weiten Spektrum zu rechnen und von Verallgemeinerungen Abstand zu nehmen ist. The narratives about the prophets in 1 and 2 Kings are often thought of as being entirely traditio-historically and literarily ancient and of Northern Israelite provenance. Here, the possibility of justifying these suppositions is checked against the war narratives. These offer the opportunity of at least roughly assessing the tradition-historical relationship of the texts to their historical background through a comparison between their literary development and what is historically plausible. This exercise shows that one must take into account a wide spectrum of different times and places for the development of the tradition. Generalisations must be avoided. | ||
