| Riepilogo: | The text 1.3 of the Book of Jonah said that the prophet went down to Jaffa and found a ship bound for Tarshish. The port of Jaffa's position on the Mediterranean has meant that most scholars have thought that Jonah was going towards the Far West. I have argued that Tarshish must have been close to the Red Sea. So, the possibility of locating the Tarshish referred to in the Book of Jonah somewhere on the Red Sea, would be to suppose that the person who wrote the Book of Jonah, believed that the Nile canal, which was in use in his time, also had been in use in the period in which the story of Jonah took place. Jonas 1, 3 dit que le prophète descendit à Joppé et y trouva un navire en partance pour Tarsis. La position de ce port sur la Méditerranée a semblé impliquer, pour la plupart des chercheurs, que Jonas se dirigeait vers l'extrême ouest. J'ai essayé de démontrer que Tarsis aurait été proche de la mer Rouge. Placer aussi le Tarsis du livre de Jonas quelque part sur la mer Rouge, suppose que l'auteur du livre pensait que le canal du Nil, qui existait à l'époque de la rédaction, était déjà en service à l'époque de l'histoire qu'il raconte. |
