Description
Summary:How reliable is the transmission of the New Testament text? This will be investigated by comparing manuscripts (papyri) from before the time of Constantine to those after his reign (Byzantine minuscules). During this comparison the question will be: how much of the text of the New Testament and, by way of comparison, of the Pastor Hermae, respectively, has remained unaltered between the second century and the beginning of the second millennium? As will be demonstrated, the accuracy of the transmission of the New Testament text is greater than of those texts which by the early church were regarded as canonical only in part.
