Description
Summary:Animals play an extremely important role in the biblical sources. In the Old Testament they appear very frequently, often in detail, in key roles and in a very wide range of text genres, narratives, poetry or legal codes. Animals as a topic take us from the first page (Genesis 1) into the heart of anthropology, into the heart of the theology of creation, and also into the question of images of God. Ancient cultures such as Israel's had experience of wild animals and domestic animals. They thought about the relationship of human beings, animals and deities. Their very varied views challenge us - on equal terms.
