Summary: | Scholars have long debated the relative values of the different formulas in the books of Kings and Chronicles relating to the kings of Judah. Recent studies acknowledge increasingly the historical accuracy and value of the formulas in Chronicles where these differ from the formulas in Kings. It is the object of this paper to demonstrate the relative precision of the burial formulas in Chronicles. Throughout this article the abbreviations K and Chr will be used for the books of Kings and Chronicles. |
