En conséquence, des rois bibliques sont décrits comme ayant démoli des installations cultuelles dans leurs royaumes, comme Asa, Jéhu, Ézéchias et Josias. | 520 | |a This article explores the distinctive variations between internal and external deliberate destructions of cultic installations that occur during two different phases of a city’s life. During a city’s continual existence, we have examples of intentional destructions of cultic materials and structures at sites in Israel. Correspondingly, biblical kings are described as demolishing cultic installations in their kingdoms, such as Asa, Jehu, Hezekiah, and Josiah. In the last phase of a city’s existence, when it is destroyed by foreign enemies, one can observe external deliberate destructions. Likewise, the Hebrew Bible recounts Joshua’s battle directives for Israel to demolish Canaanite religious places. | ||
