Sans qu’il s’agisse d’un commentaire suivi au sens propre du terme, Eusèbe propose néanmoins une lecture d’Isaïe 6 qui suit une ligne interprétative homogène ; dès lors, cette exégèse de la grande vision d’Isaïe permet de dégager une certaine conception de l’histoire selon Eusèbe, fondée sur la révélation du Verbe apparu jadis aux hébreux, ces précurseurs des chrétiens. Cependant, confronté à la fin de sa vie aux conceptions théologiques de Marcel d’Ancyre sur le Verbe, Eusèbe se voit contraint de modifier sensiblement sa conception de l’histoire, qui repose désormais non plus sur la révélation du Verbe, mais du Fils. | ||

Although it is not an ongoing commentary in the proper sense of the term, Eusebius nevertheless proposes a reading of Isaiah 6 that follows a homogeneous interpretative line; from then on, this exegesis of Isaiah’s great vision makes it possible to identify a certain conception of history according to Eusebius, based on the revelation of the Word that appeared to the Hebrews, the precursors of the Christians. However, confronted at the end of his life with Marcellus of Ancyra’s theological conceptions of the Word, Eusebius is forced to modify his conception of History, which is no longer based on the revelation of the Word, but of the Son. | ||
