From the perspective of the creation motif the unfolding of the story can be compared to an ellipse, emphasising two focal creation moments: the incarnation of the Logos (1:1-18) and the bestowment of the Spirit onto the disciples (20:21-23). These two creation moments are part of a literary comparison between creation and "new creation". |
