Only after all the results were published and interpreted can historians or religio-historians begin to work out the implications of recent archaeology for their fields of research. The relationships among various kinds of archaeological reports, publications on the history and religious history of ancient Israel and popular overviews are discussed. Archaeological publications are dealt with under the headings of interim, final and popular reports. These reports result in interpretative and thematic overviews. With these archaeological sources available, secondary research can be done and reference is made to a historical, a textual and an iconographical focus, with examples of publications in each of these fields of research. | ||
