En revanche, cet article vise à montrer que la bénédiction est formulée avec soin et reprend des thèmes centraux du corps épistolaire de 2 Timothée. 'The Lord be with your spirit' (2 Tim 4:22a) differs from the postscripts of the two other Pastoral Epistles and is unique within all closing benedictions in the Pauline letters. Most commentaries overlook these peculiarities. They consider the sentence to be a pre-Pauline liturgical phrase and claim that 'with your spirit' is synonymous to 'with you'. In contrast, this article aims at showing that the benediction is carefully worded and takes up central themes from the epistolary body of 2 Timothy. |
