Building on the exegetical insights of Mary Ann Tolbert and the narratological theory of Mieke Bal, four parallels between chapter 13 and the Markan passion are explored: Mark’s use of paradidómi; darkness; named hours; and Jesus’ imperative to "keep awake." |
