Summary:A.1885.137 is a previously unpublished stelophorous statue in the collections of National Museums Scotland in Edinburgh. The following article provides a brief history and description of the object, translations of its inscriptions, discussions of its context within the wider object category (including the role of stelophorous statues in mediating solar and Osirian associations in New Kingdom tomb spaces, and the utility of material anthropology in developing a more dynamic understanding of these objects), and an evaluation of A.1885.137 and similar examples as members of a possible sub-group of stelophorous statues.
