Summary: | Rather than read out our contributions to the theme of the conference followed by a brief discussion we tried to offer something a little more varied. So we each wrote a piece of 2000 words on the subject of our session, and these were circulated to participants in advance of the conference. On the day, we started the session with a ten-minute summary of what we had written. We then responded to each other briefly, summaries of which follow our papers. Zoë Bennett who chaired our session then asked the origins of our views in our own history, their context, how they were influenced by our education, experience and the like, after which discussion was opened to participants. |
