Joshua 19,35 ist eine alte Krux und verschiedene Lösungen sind für diesen Text angeboten worden. Ich schlage folgende Übersetzung von V.35a vor: „Und die befestigten Städte der Sidonier (ṣd<n>ym)“. Mehrere biblische Texte deuten auf das Vorhandensein von Sidoniern in der Nähe der Region Oberes Galiläa hin. Die unbenannten, befestigten Städte bildeten einen Teil der Region um die Stadt Dan und können als Dan, Abel und Ijon identifiziert werden. Der Text spiegelt die Gegebenheit in der Region nach der Besetzung von Galiläa durch die Assyrer wider, als Sidonier in dieses Gebiet migrierten und sich ihre ethnische Zusammensetzung und kulturellen Normen änderten. |
