| Summary: | This short study communicates some new understandings of the composition and theology of the Book of Amos: Chapters 3 through 6 show a concentric structure. The story about Moses (Exod 20 and 32–34) and the Primeval Flood (Gen 6–8) provide the underlying framework of the composition. It becomes evident that the parts of the canon called “Torah” and “Prophets” are more closely related than scholarship acknowledged so far. Als Fazit kann festgehalten werden. Die Formel „Gesetz und Propheten“ beschreibt keine sekundäre Verbindung von ursprünglich nicht zusammengehörenden Texten, die je für sich zu verstehen wären. In der Formung der prophetischen Literatur hat offensichtlich der Pentateuch einen sehr großen Einfluss ausgeübt, der entweder in der formgeschichtlich geprägten Forschung marginalisiert oder durch redaktionsgeschichtliche „Textverteilungen“ für die Interpretation zu wenig in Anschlag gebracht worden ist. Es erscheint angemessener, in den Prophetenbüchern mit späten Kompositionen zu rechnen, die von großen theologischen Konzepten (vor allem des Pentateuch) geprägt sind. Möglicherweise ist die Botschaft der Bibel also doch einheitlicher, als die moderne Forschung lange Zeit glauben wollte. Wäre das bedauerlich? |
