Description
Summary:Gen 47,2 states that Joseph took five of his brothers to an audience with the Pharaoh. The number five has scarcely been commented on in this context. Adding Joseph himself, the number six results, which is half of twelve. A half represents the whole. Thus, Joseph counts himself among his brothers when facing the Pharaoh.
