Description
Summary:In Volume XLII (1971) of the Hebrew Union College Annual Eleanor K. Vogel published a bibliography of material on Holy Land sites that had appeared prior to 1970. The present "Bibliography of Holy Land Sites II" supplements that earlier article with a listing of works published since 1970 — to which the author has added a few items omitted from her first bibliography. The Reverend Dr. Brooks Holtzclaw assisted Mrs. Vogel in the composition of this second bibliography. The earlier work has been so much in demand that it was reprinted as a separatum. To the reprint, the eminent Palestinian archaeologist G. Ernest Wright wrote a preface, from which we quote: "Mrs. Vogel had been archaeological research assistant to Nelson Glueck for over three decades.... The monograph here published is one of several collections of information made for her own and Dr. Glueck's use over the years. It demonstrates the meticulousness of the ideal compiler of reference information.... We archaeologists are greatly in her debt...." [Ed.]
