Description
Item Description:Jeremiah 30-31 can be divided into three parts: Jer. 30:1-3.4-31:26,27-40. The middle part ca be divided into four parts: Jer. 30:5-11.12-22.23-31:14.15-25. These four pericopes tell how God changes a situation of disaster in Israel to a situation of prosperity. It is defended that the text Jer. 30-31 originates shortly after the destruction of Jerusalem in 587/6 B.C.E. The words of Jer. 30-31, reacting to the complaints of the Judaean people as stated in the Book of Lamentations, are meant to encourage the people who went in exile. The text Jer. 30:5-11 consists of two parts: Jer. 30:5-7.8-11. There exist many relations between these two parts. The ralationship of Jer. 30-31 with the prophecies of Zephaniah and Nahum too is stated. Allusions to these prophecies are also found in Jer. 30-31. The text Jer. 30,5-11 speaks from the notion of covenant. (Abstract aus "Amsterdamschen Cahier" 15, Kampen 1986, S.135)
