Description
Summary:This article gives a review on the very substantial second volume of the »Kompendium der frühchristlichen Wundererzählungen«, concerning stories in canonical Lukan acts and in non-canonical apocryphal acts narrating miracles of the apostles. After an overview on historical and exegetical problems of these writings readers receive broad information on the mircacle stories in Lukan Acts and on a number of miracle stories in later written texts, from second to fifth century. Some of these miracle stories are really strange and might be called »phantastic«. All contributions are eager to give a careful exegesis even of sometimes very difficult texts. Sometimes interest is given to the question, how to »understand« miracle stories in present times.RUBEN ZIMMERMANN (Hg.), Kompendium der frühchristlichen Wundererzählungen. Band 2.
