El apdstol se refiere al paganismo en este pasaje para fortalecer su argumentación retorica con el propdsito de llamar la atencién de los Galatas a un problema mayor del cual ellos no quisieran ser parte de: Sincretismo religioso. The fact that in Gal 4:8-11 Paul alludes to the pagan gods that his brethren used to worship is taken by many as substantial evidence confirming that the Galatians are not only adopting the message of circumcision but also practicing paganism. A close analysis of the passage suggests that this might not be what Paul is trying to convey. The apostle refers to paganism in this passage to strengthen his rhetorical argumentation in order to call the Galatians’ attention to a bigger problem that they might not want to be part of: Religious syncretism. |
