Description
Summary:This book is that rare bird, a commentary which is not part of a series. There ought to be a lot more of them. It must often be the case that, as maybe here, an expert and experienced New Testament scholar has valuable and interesting things to say about a text but happens not to have been commissioned to write the particular volume in one of the series. Happily, Hultgren has taken the risk of committing the time to produce this fine volume., This is a long-ish mid-length commentary. It works roughly verse by verse, discussing the Greek text and drawing on a range of Jewish and Greco-Roman texts to arrive at Hultgren’s reading.
