Description
Summary:We suggest here to let ourselves be inspired by the thought process F.D.E. Schleiermacher activated when linking up general hermeneutics with particular perspectives and critical observations. It would indeed be suitable to expose present problematics governing ancient apocryphal studies to the same kind of fundamental discussion. The approach of apocryphal questions to-day remains empirical ; it prizes all singularities and their halfhazard accumulation. This proposition immediately bears on the very presuppositions of research which implicitly produce this seeming dispersion if not disparity. Its aim is to answer the needs of locating and establishing conditions for a general comprehension of those apocryphal procedures the researches study. Rather than circumscribe and define the field of apocryphal studies, let us primarily think out the meaning of apocryphity itself as a scripturary phenomenon of Antiquity.
