Summary: | We have currently the collation of sixteen manuscripts considered as direct witnesses of the Greek recension A of the Acta Pilati. Eleven of them (from the 12th to the 16th c.) make up a first family Ф and the five others a second one Х (13th-17th c.). This collection is completed by five indirect witnesses with the Narratio Josephi rescripta (quoting AP 1-2 and 5-8) and by three late quotations of liturgical type from the Ecclesiastical History of German of Constantinople (12th-13th c. ; AP 1,2-5). Thus, to the eight manuscripts of C. von Tischendorf’s edition thirteen new manuscripts have been added. |
