Description
Summary:A new text-historical analysis of the dietary and purity laws in Leviticus 11 suggests that the relative dating of the literary strata in this chapter is different from what has been argued in the past. Based on a highly nuanced differentiation between impurity and prohibition that was the new and deliberate contribution of Priestly (non-H) writers, this analysis suggests that extensive literary activity of P took place following that of H.
