Summary: | Michael Gorman has distinguished himself as a Pauline scholar who is both a keen exegete and an innovative theologian—not ‘innovative’ in the sense of heretical, but in the sense of helping us see Paul’s theology, especially his soteriology, in a manner that transcends the deeply-worn ruts (divisive chasms?) of established theological categories. This new monograph—a collection of nine previously published and two fresh essays that nevertheless have been woven together into an impressively coherent trajectory here—refines and, in some ways, extends the exegetical basis for and theological ramifications of his earlier three monographs on Pauline theology. |
