L’avventura grafica del mondo occidentale, Città del Vaticano 2010) provides the opportunity in the course of a review to trace the development of Latin palaeography in recent decades. The reviewer deals above all with the handwriting of books up to the end of the Middle Ages, and not only presents the results of recent research but also points out the lacunae. Finally, he poses the question of the future of palaeography. Die Veröffentlichung des umfangreichen italienischen Handbuchs der lateinischen Paläographie von P. Cherubini und A. Pratesi (Paleografia latina. L’avventura grafica del mondo occidentale, Città del Vaticano 2010) bietet anläßlich der Rezension des Werkes die Gelegenheit, sich auch über die Entwicklung der lateinischen Paläographie in den letzten Jahrzehnten zu vergewissern. Der Rezensent befaßt sich vor allem mit den Buchschriften bis zum Ende des Mittelalters und weist auf Ergebnisse, aber auch auf Lücken in der Forschung hin. Zum Schluß stellt er die Frage nach der Zukunft der Paläographie. |
