David passe pour avoir sacrifié le premier sur l'autel qu'il a bâti sur la Pierre de Sion, ce qui fixe clairement la destination de la Pierre comme base de l'autel et non comme fondement du Saint des Saints ou debîr du temple salomonien. The biggest fragment of the Hebrew manuscript 4Q522 has preserved remains of two columns with incomplete lines. Those of the second column concern David and his son Solomon, Sion, the Rock of Sion, the cult on the Rock-Altar, the preparation of the building of the Temple and the transfer of the Tent of Meeting into the city of David. David is said to have been the first to make offering on the altar which he built on the Rock of Sion. This clearly indicates the function of the Rock as the base of the altar and not the base of the Holy of Holies or debîr of the Solomonic Temple. |
