Description
Summary:This article provides a detailed comparison of the two versions of the Penal Code in Serekh ha-Yachad (S) and the Damascus Document (D) and argues for a literary dependency with the prority of S. The argument includes a discussion of the different methodological approaches and the interrelation between historical, sociological, traditio-historical and literary- or redaction-critical aspects. Furthermore, the relationship between S and D is compared to the biblical analogy of the rerwriting of the Covenant Code in Deuteronmy.\n4207 \n4207
