Description
Summary:The word 'xxxxxxxxxxx' is unintelligible in the text of 2 Peter 3:10. The majority of manuscripts have variant readings. An examination of the various readings shows that in the early church the problem was solved by interpreting the text in the light of the religious context: the Zoroastrian eschatology. Although many modern commentators and translators accept the originality of the reading with 'xxxxxxxxxxx' almost all follow the lead of the early church in translating from the context.
