Description
Summary:It is possible that the above title is too narrowly stated to indicate what will be attempted in this paper. What is actually proposed here is, first, a brief re-examination of the types of material in the Jeremiah book in their mutual relationship, together with an observation of the incidence of certain of these types elsewhere; and this will, I believe, lead to interesting conclusions regarding the place and function of this material in prophetic literature generally, and in Jeremiah specifically. Perhaps these will, in turn, throw light on the problems of the formation of the Jeremiah book itself.
