Description
Summary:The problem of the twofold ending of Mark is classical. A reassessment suggests two conclusions: first, the original ending of that Gospel was the first one (16:8 'for they were afraid'); second, the longer ending (16:9-20) was written as a conclusion of the four Gospels, when Mark was the last one, and it remained attached to it when the order was altered.
