L'ouvrage, structuré en suivant le déroulement de Gn 2-3, explore des motifs thématiques dans l'ensemble de l'Écriture, de l'Ancien au Nouveau Testament. L'article rend compte de choix herméneutiques opérés par les membres de la Commission. Venus devant le texte biblique avec leur monde, ils conçoivent la Bible comme "une prophétie" à écouter. Attentifs aux textes, ils conduisent une lecture canonique de l'Écriture. Le sujet emblématique de l'homosexualité, longuement exploré dans le Document, permet de repérer les difficultés affrontées, notamment des lieux d'incertitude du texte, et le type de conclusion ouverte à laquelle les membres de la Commission aboutissent. In 2019, the Pontifical Biblical Commission released the document What is Man? A Journey through Biblical anthropology. Structured according to the progression of Gn2-3, the work explores themes found throughout Scripture, in both the Old and New Testaments. This article reflects upon the hermeneutical choices made by members of the Commission: coming to the biblical text from their own world, they treat the Bible as a "prophecy" to be heard. Attentive to texts, the authors offer a canonical reading of Scripture. The emblematic subject of homosexuality, treated at length in the document, enables us to identify the difficulties faced in the document and especially areas of uncertainty as well as the sort of open conclusion reached by the members of the Commission. |
