Description
Summary:Psalm 1 is a poem drawing on a number of "prose particles," which strongly inform its antithetical poetics and worldview. One dimension of this literary construction is the overlooked chiastic "sonant parallelism" between rěšāʿîm ("wicked ones") and the relative "prose particle" ʾăšer ("that, which"). Psalm 1’s "prose particles" are further suggestive of the possibility that the psalm originated as a written work, perhaps produced by Levitical scribes as a tôrâ-introduction to the Psalter.
