Οὗτος and Collaborative-Markedness: An Investigation into the Marked Versus Default Nature of Οὗτος applied to Mark’s Gospel

Investigaciones recientes sobre Οὗτος en griego koiné no han diferenciado el uso marcado versus convencional. Para distinguir el uso marcado, propongo el concepto de marcado-colaborativo (MC): donde el PD1 se presenta con otras técnicas de prominencia u opera fuera del orden convencional en la disposición (OCD) de los elementos oracionales. Cuando el PDl colabora con otras técnicas para resaltar, con construcciones marcadas o fuera de OCD, el PD1 hace que el referente sea temporalmente temático o enfatiza la prominencia temática preexistente. Aplico el MC a un análisis del PD1 en el Evangelio de Marcos. The default function of the near demonstrative (ND) oiitoc; is to ref er to an aforementioned or forthcoming constituent. Recent scholarship concerning oiitoc; in Kaine Greek bas not differentiated marked versus default use. To distinguish marked use, I propose the concept of collaborative-markedness (CM): where the ND is used with other prominence devices or functions outside of its default constituent order (DCO). When the ND collaborates with other highlighting devices, marked constructions, or outside of DCO, the ND makes the referent either temporarily thematic, or it emphasizes pre-existing thematic salience. I apply CM to an analysis of the ND in Mark's Gospel. |
