Summary: | The instance of universality and uniqueness, implicated in the fundamental question, concerns the opening of anthropology to God's revelation. It is necessary to show how the "leap" of revelation remains truly such, though already really operating. Beauchamp performs that task opening the second volume of The One and the Other Testament with a "Philosophical Prologue", relating to the development of the text, which then will be the hermeneutical instrument of Bible reading. An approach which abstracts from the Bible is necessary for a comprehension of fulfilment which concerns truth: that would not seem such, if it itself didn't somehow pose its own anticipation, which it needs in order to call itself "fulfilment", but which is the fulfilment which makes such. The two chapters of the Prologue meet the need to say the distinction and the relation between "realism" and the "evidence" of realism or between calling God and God's self-calling and therefore between the subject and the truth, which only revelation guarantees in the double register of anticipation and fulfilment.
