Description
Summary:entally similar but independent event appear less plausible alternatives. Compared with Mark, John's episode has a similar narrative placement, has similar Christological emphases, and is key to understanding other characters' opposition to Jesus. Differences between the passages will be explored considering John's theological agenda alongside recent research in ancient source use to conclude that the Johannine paralytic is informed by and reworked from the Markan paralytic.
