Description
Summary:We held the fourth general assembly of the Ecumenical Association of Third World Theologians (EATWOT) in the Philippines from December 10 - 17, 1996. The theme of the Conference was, "Search for a new, just world order: challenges to theology". Globalization was looked at and critiqued for the impact it has on the poor as understood from the biblical perspective. Economic globalization was found to work in general against poor nations especially women in those countries hence the feminist perspective emphasised during the deliberations. The context of Asia as the poorest of the third-world continents and its religious pluralism necessitated a re-look at theology in general and Christology in particular.
