| Summary: | Women and the sosio-cultural narrative The socio-cultural narrative mirrors the dominant system of values in society. This system contains the values of and protects the interests of the dominant group. It is expression of the prevailing ideology of a culture. In Western society patriarchy is still the dominant ideology. Feminist hermeneutics aims to illuminate the disparity between the sexes in the socio-cultural narrative as one of more urgent problems in society. This article discusses different aspects of the "coherent philosophy" behind this socio-cultural narrative. Dominant theories in theology, which result from this ideology, are exposed. The article focuses on the role of pastoral interaction with women and points out the consequences for pastoral care. |
