Description
Summary:The phrase 'the windows of Heaven' (Ml 3:10) has been used as a promise that God will supernaturally bless with prosperity those who are obedient to him, particularly in tithing. It is not only questionable to simply apply this verse to a later context, but the understanding of the phrase elsewhere in the Old Testament cannot support such an interpretation. It carries a connotation of judgement rather than blessing, and is to be understood eschatologically rather than as a promise to be received immediately.
