Description
Summary:This paper argues that the mistrust of 'centre' theologies of the Old Testament was inevitable because of the character of the literary approaches to the Hebrew Bible typical of recent decades. With the advent of new positions in this field, conventionally summarised in the discipline of 'introduction', the rediscovery of the 'centre' type theology seems equally inevitable. Aspects and implications of the interrelationship of the 'introductory' and 'theological' sides of Old Testament studies are considered.
