Summary:Genesis 3 probably reflects humans' striving to overcome their limitations and to control their destiny. In ancient religious terms this means humankind's striving after divinity. The mental capability, which epitomises the attempt to control everything, seems to be wisdom. The physical side seams to be politically related motifs. The present essay looks at Genesis 3 from a particular view based on a certain relationship between religion and myth with special reference to socio- political and moral issues.
