Description
Summary:Canaan and Israel in Antiquity is presented by the author as an alternative to what is currently on offer as 'standard English-language introductory handbooks' on this subject. It was written as a result of three problems Noll identified with the aforesaid textbooks : a general dissatisfaction with the product for reasons of unintelligibility as far as an informed lay audience is concerned; as well as for reasons of datedness; and ingrained religious slantedness in many textbooks that makes them unsuitable for academic purposes.
