| Summary: | This is a pocket-sized book which can be taken along on the bus, the train, or the aeroplane. I read it shortly after I read Peter J. Bowler's Monkey Trials and Gorilla Sermons : Evolution and Christianity from Darwin to Intelligent Design (Cambridge: Harvard University Press, 2007). Both authors are well acquainted with the theory of evolution and have no regard for the concept of Intelligent Design. Ayala is a Catholic Christian, Bowler is an acknowledged non-believer, but both argue that science should not be seen as a threat to belief. The two can co-exist peacefully, with believers and scientists engaging in worthwhile dialogues. |
